Priestfield Parish Church
A Student’s “Local”
If you live in Pollock, Dalkeith Road, Priestfield, Prestonfield, Blacket or Cameron Toll, you’re in our area, and we welcome you as the local Parish Church. The domes and spires tell you that there are many churches in the district, each with their own ethos and emphasis. We meet in the Italianate building with the two square towers on Dalkeith Road, just South of the Pollock campus.
We are a mixed congregation of the Church of Scotland, which is Presbyterian, but we welcome folk of all denominations, in fact anyone who is seeking to know God in Jesus Christ. We are used to welcoming students from all over the world and we offer a fellowship small enough for people to get to know one another. In fact someone suggested that we’re like a big House Group, yet large enough to have good leadership and service opportunities. We really need and value the input that energetic young people can give and we are prepared to welcome you to make your spiritual home with us. In our Worship services we aim to blend the best of traditional and contemporary both in our music and style. We do not see ourselves as competition with other churches, after all we’re all in the same “firm”. Normally the nearest church to Pollock Halls, we have to admit in all honesty the fact that, at the moment , until their building work is complete , St. Paul’s and St. George’s Scottish Episcopal Church actually meets in Pollock! However we do feel that God would have us offer you a special invitation.
Enjoy your time in Edinburgh. We pray that it will be a time of real spiritual growth for you.
Tom Johnston,
Minister of Priesfield Parish Church
